Just found these ADORABLE 1930s cotton velvet shorts with contrasting liner (coming to my etsy shop shortly). How do I know they're from the 1930s? A National Recovery Act (NRA) label. This is one of those labels that can help a person pinpoint the era of a garment quite precisely (this tells us these shorts are from 1933-1935). Aren't they *so* much like something worn by a chorus girl in a Busby Berkeley production? I think so!

Added bonuses: I got to wear my 1930s resort bolero (paired with nudeedudee 30s style skirt, Miss L. Nudeedudee 30s inspired Striped Tops: Perfect to a Tee
As you've probably noticed, I am an avid fan and wearer of the clothing created by my very good friend, Kim Stewart of Nudeedudee Clothing. (I defy you to find an outfit post of mine that does not normally contain at least one Nudeedudee creation!) Over the past three years, we have done our share of swooning over 1930s resort fashion, embodied by the Deauville beach photos taken by the Seeberger Brothers, as well as Jacques Henri Lartigue's photographs of the gorgeous Renée Perle. You may recall my glee last year when she came out with a very 30s inspired top!
Great news: Kim has two *new* very 30s resort-inspired striped knit tops up for offer in her shop! Although they hearken to the past, they are perfect for the bodacious curvaceous beauties of today! Congrats, Kim!!

Colour Blocked
I don't know about you, but I'm totally loving some of the colour blocked pieces in the Marc Jacobs 2013 Resort collection. These evoke late 20s and 30s designs by the likes of Sonia Delauney and Nina Ricci. Win!

Postcards from the Coast
Just a quick shout out to my family and some grainy 'on-the-go' iPhone snaps, which do the trick of capturing my main L.A. interests this past while:
1) Dining at some great restaurants. For burgers, some love In-N-Out, but I'm a Bob's Big Boy girl.

| 1930s style blouse + skirt: Nudeedudee; shoes: Re-mix Anita shoes |
2) Exploring all that Southern California has to offer! So far, lots of grand adventures, including two days at Disneyland.

| Top: 1930s peasant blouse and 1930s striped beach bag; skirt: Nudeedudee; shoes: Re-mix Emily sandals |
3) Dancing! I've twirled and charleston-ed at the amazing Art Deco Cicada Club several times now, but there are other great places to go, like Joe's in Burbank.

I've also been spending lots of time with great friends and have done some volunteering. My cup runneth over!

Hot & Cold, Revisited
Hello, June! Glad to greet you! May you be filled with sultry days punctuated by cool ocean breezes! All I want to wear are halter tops, flowy trousers, and floppy hats a la these beauties on the cover of McCall's Magazine, c. 1934.
